Our Team

The staff of Counseling For Change is diverse and most have attained at least a Master’s degree in his chosen field. CFC is also a teaching facility and offers internships to students from the University of Southern Indiana, IVYTech, and others. CFC provides “hands on” learning opportunities to as many as eight interns each semester. CFC believes that ongoing training is an important part of staff development, and all therapists are offered opportunities to attend seminars and workshops to keep up on the latest treatment protocols.

Sam Hargrove, LMFT
Psychotherapist

Sam Hargrove is a psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience in the treatment of addictions and mental health specializing in family therapy. Mr. Hargrove completed his Master of Counseling from the University of Evansville. Mr. Hargrove is currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Mr. Hargrove is a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor and is trained in EMDR therapy. He is also trained as a Moral Reconation Therapist. Mr. Hargrove provides individual, group, and family therapy.

Michael Forrest, MSW
Pychotherapist

Michael Forrest is a psychotherapist with CFC. Mr. Forrest completed his Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Southern Indiana. Mr. Forrest is trained in EMDR therapy and specializes in the treatment of trauma and addiction. Mr. Forrest is also a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor. Mr. Forrest has over 20 years of experience in the addictions/mental health field.

JoAnna Knopf, LCSW
Psychotherapist

JoAnna Knopf is a psychotherapist with CFC. Ms. Knopf completed her Master of Social Work Degree at the University of Southern Indiana. Ms. Knopf obtained licensure from the State of Indiana as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Ms. Knopf is certified in EMDR therapy and has specialized training in play therapy utilizing EMDR. Ms. Knopf is a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor. Ms. Knopf provides individual, group, and family therapy and specializes in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders with women and children who have experienced sexual trauma and interpersonal difficulties.

Michael McKay, LCAC, LSW
Psychotherapist

Michael McKay is a psychotherapist with CFC. Mr. McKay completed his Master of Social Work from Texas State University. Mr. McKay is currently a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor and a Licensed Social Worker. Mr. McKay is a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor and is trained in EMDR therapy. He has completed training to become a D.O.C. Certified Thinking for a Change facilitator as well as completion of advanced training in Moral Reconation Therapy.

Teresa Mercer, LCSW, LCAC
Psychotherapist

Teresa Mercer is a psychotherapist with CFC and has over 15 years of experience in the fields of addiction and mental health. Ms. Mercer earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern Indiana. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor. Ms. Mercer is a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor and is trained in EMDR therapy. Ms. Mercer has extensive experience working with adolescents in a school setting. Ms. Mercer facilitates individual, group and family therapy for CFC. Ms. Mercer specializes in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disorders with women who have experienced sexual trauma and interpersonal difficulties. Her areas of expertise include substance abuse, depression, anxiety, sexual trauma, and PTSD.

Katherine J. Webb, LCAC, CADAC II
Psychotherapist

Katherine Webb is a therapist at Counseling For Change with over twenty years of experience in the treatment of addiction disorders. Ms. Webb graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Degree in Sociology. Ms. Webb is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor and ICAADA-CADAC II certified. She is a DMHA Approved Compulsive Gambling Treatment Counselor and has worked with the homeless populations where she was instrumental in establishing a transitional shelter for the Community Action Program of Evansville (CAPE). Ms. Webb is a Certified Employment Specialist. Ms. Webb specializes in the treatment of opiate addiction and has several years of experience working in the field of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
